We are writing to inform you that the Principals of the Castlewellan area have taken the collective decision to close all schools tomorrow in light of the amber weather warning currently in place.
As school leaders, we have a duty of care to our pupils, staff, and wider school community, and we must ensure that no one is put at unnecessary risk when travelling to or from school.
We recognise the significant inconvenience that short‑notice closures can cause, and this decision has not been taken lightly. However, the safety of our pupils, staff and the entire school community must remain our top priority.
